EVENT INFO
What is the ASCAP Experience?
The ASCAP Experience is a music creator conference designed to help you amp up your creativity, polish your music-making skills and better understand how the money flows in the music business. It features practical workshops and in-depth interviews, provocative discussions, networking opportunities, chances to get your music heard and more.
When and where does the ASCAP Experience take place?
The ASCAP Experience is live and in person on June 21, 2023 at the AVALON Hollywood in sunny Los Angeles, CA.
Who can attend the ASCAP Experience?
The ASCAP Experience is open to music creators of all kinds — songwriters, composers, producers and performers — and at every stage of their careers. Our in-person event in LA is open exclusively to ASCAP members, and members of performing rights organizations from other countries who license their music through ASCAP in the US.
Anyone can watch some of our favorite sessions and performances from past ASCAP Experiences, on demand and free of charge, at www.ascapexperience.com/on-demand.
Why is it only open to ASCAP members and foreign affiliates?
For our first in-person event after three years of virtual programming, we wanted to do something special for our ASCAP family in a more intimate venue than usual.
Not an ASCAP member yet? No worries! ASCAP membership is totally free to join for writers, or anyone joining as a writer & publisher at the same time. Join today and we’ll see you in LA in June.
How much does it cost?
ASCAP Experience is $35 to attend (plus Eventbrite service fees). Best bang for your buck in the music business!
How can I buy a ticket?
You can register for the ASCAP Experience at www.ascapexperience.com/register. You will need to enter the last 3 digits of your ASCAP member ID number (or IPI number, if you’re a foreign affiliate) to buy a ticket.
What if I don’t know my member ID number?
You can find it on any printed ASCAP royalty statement, inside your ASCAP Member Access account, or by calling ASCAP Global Services at 1-800-95-ASCAP during normal business hours.
Can I buy a ticket the day of the event?
We urge you to buy your ticket in advance. The venue capacity is smaller than our past ASCAP Experience events so there is a good chance that this will sell out before June 21. If tickets are still available the day of, you can purchase one at www.ascapexperience.com/register. Please note that the ticket price will increase to $50 (plus Eventbrite fees) on June 21.
How do I sign up for ASCAP Experience programming updates?
Register for the ASCAP Experience and you’ll automatically receive the latest ASCAP Experience news via email. Not sure you can make it yet? Join our email list to be the first to know about ASCAP Experience updates and new programming.
Is there an opportunity to get feedback on my music?
There sure is! Eligible attendees can submit their songs to receive live song feedback from a panel of experts. Once the submission form is live, we’ll send out the link to all of our registered attendees.
Can I ask the panelists a question?
Select sessions do include a Q&A portion at the panelists’ discretion.
Will this year’s panels be streamed?
The ASCAP Experience 2023 is designed as an in-person event and we want to make it something special for our attendees. We will not be live-streaming any of the sessions, but we plan to make select sessions available for on-demand viewing, after the event.
But why miss all the networking, the feedback opportunities, and the in-the-moment electricity of actually being there? Register today and join us in person!
Where do I park?
Per Avalon Hollywood’s website: “AVALON does not have designated on-site parking. However, you can reserve nearby parking in advance or on demand through our official parking partner, Pavemint. Download Pavemint on the App Store or Google Play store, or search for parking online by date and time.”
I bought a ticket and now I can’t go. What’s your refund/cancellation policy?
You may request a full refund (minus Eventbrite’s service fees) up to one week ahead of the event. After June 14, tickets will be non-refundable. To request a refund, log into Eventbrite, go to Tickets, find your order and select “Request a refund.”
I have a disability and will need to be accompanied by someone who is not an ASCAP member. Can I still attend?
Absolutely! Send us an email at experience@ascap.com and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
Can I buy a ticket for someone else?
Yes, but only if that person is an ASCAP member, or a member of a foreign PRO who licenses their music through ASCAP in the US. If you are purchasing on behalf of an ASCAP member, our registration form requires the last three digits of their private member ID number, so it’s preferred that they fill out the form themselves, even if you are paying. Email us at experience@ascap.com with any questions.
